Hiroo Thadaney
Mr. Thadaney is a Senior Associate / Consultant
with KappaWest. He has wide-ranging experience in the areas of
Corporate/Financial Planning, Strategic Planning, Business Analysis,
Business Process Re-engineering, and Information Technology
applications.
Mr. Thadaney has worked as a successful business
and technology consultant across Canada and the United States in a
wide variety of industries and in government for over 40 years - - -
industries that included manufacturing, oil & gas, power
generation, distribution, transportation, hotel, wholesale, retail,
financial, construction and communications.
He was a co-founder of MPS
Management Consultants Ltd. in 1974, a company that pioneered
Corporate Planning & Financial Planning using the computer-based
modelling and simulation. Its MPS-F software was successfully sold to
large companies and used by several others on the computer
time-sharing networks in Canada (based in Toronto and Ottawa) and in
the U.S. (based in Dallas). Under his direction as President, MPS
Management Consultants achieved very good profitability in 1977 &
1978. This initiated the start-up in 1979 of a complementary
time-sharing company, Apex Computing Resources, based on the new
Digital VAX computer series. Apex reached profitability within a
year. Both companies were merged in 1981 to form MPS Group. In 1981,
MPS was also selected to be the first Canadian distributor for Oracle
Corp and launch the very successful ORACLE Database Management System
in Canada.
While at MPS, he consulted to
large organisations and developed corporate planning, financial budgeting,
financial control, project evaluation and financial consolidation
models for Brascan Ltd., Canadian Pacific Ltd., C.P. Hotels, Suncor
Inc., Govt. Of Canada,
Dept. of Reg. Economic Expansion, Hudson's Bay Co., Northern Telecom,
Saskatchewan Mining & Development, and other organisations.
Previously, he has held a
variety of technical, consulting and management positions at Canadian
Westinghouse, IBM Canada, and Computer Sciences Canada. He has also
held a technical marketing position at Xerox Canada.
Due to his wide-ranging
experience and technological skills, he was listed in the 1995
International Who's Who of Professionals directory.
He has published papers on a
variety of technical topics in professional journals and has been a
speaker at many seminars and conferences over the years. He holds a
B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering, an M.S. degree in Industrial
Engineering from Cornell University, and a D.O.R. (Operational
Research) from the University
of Toronto. He
is a Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario, Canada.
He is also a member of several professional societies/associations
