Jay Kurtz
Mr. Kurtz is the founder and President of KappaWest. He is an internationally acclaimed
authority on the application of military principles in the
competitive business environment. As such, Mr. Kurtz helped to
pioneer and popularize the concepts of "Business Warfare"
worldwide as a speaker and lecturer in over thirty countries on five
continents and as a consultant to more than 150 companies.
Mr. Kurtz remains one of KappaWest's
most active professionals and typically travels more than 100 days
per year to visit clients, deliver training programs and to conduct
consulting and facilitation assignments. He is involved personally in
preparing and conducting major business wargames
for clients each year. Many clients turn to KappaWest
again and again because of the trust they have in Mr. Kurtz, his
ability to provide structure and discipline, help executive teams
deal more quickly and effectively with complex business situations,
and the close personal relationships that he maintains with many top
corporate executives.
Mr. Kurtz combines conventional marketing and
planning theory with military concepts and analogies for a pragmatic,
effective approach to business. His no-nonsense approach has enhanced
the performance of large and small companies in highly competitive,
demanding situations across a broad range of industries and markets.
He has an established track record of success in high technology
companies, especially in the information technology,
telecommunications, bio-technology and pharmaceutical industries, as
well as in areas as diverse as defense/aerospace and professional
services.
Mr. Kurtz was one of the original founders of Multiple
Access Limited (since acquired by a large international information
technology company), a multi-million dollar computer services and
communications firm, where he held the position of Vice
President-Marketing. Previously, he was National Marketing Manager of
the Data Center Division of IBM Canada.
Mr. Kurtz served in the Canadian Army as a Captain
in the Royal Canadian Engineers. He is a licensed professional
engineer, a graduate in Engineering from the Royal Military College
of Canada and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from Queens University.
