Dennis Ruffin

Mr. Ruffin is a senior member of the KappaWest professional staff and president of an international consulting company. He has over 27 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, including executive positions in operations (plant and network), sales, human resources, marketing, training and external affairs. His experience has been obtained through line and staff assignments throughout the United States and in several European locations.

While at AT&T, Mr. Ruffin designed and implemented the national market trial for the picture phone product. He also held regional marketing positions associated with new product development. On two separate occasions Mr. Ruffin led AT&T national efforts at product introduction and then accepted field sales assignments for implementation activities. The field sales responsibilities included directing several hundred account executives in all sales activities associated with new product introduction and distribution.

Prior to his retirement from AT&T, Mr. Ruffin conducted seminars for the executive level, including Officers, addressing such issues as competition, finance, team building, strategy/tactics and customer relations.

During the past seven years Mr. Ruffin has conducted business and management seminars and conferences at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow, the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences at Kiev, Moscow State University in Moscow, University of Tomsk in Tomsk, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Moscow and at the Academician A.L. Mintz Radiotechnical Institute in Moscow. In addition, Mr. Ruffin has worked extensively with the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in Russia and Ukraine as it pertains to the introduction of cellular technology into the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Prior to employment with AT&T, Mr. Ruffin was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Ruffin served as a helicopter pilot in the United States Army and currently holds civilian FAA ratings as a single and multi-engine pilot.

Mr. Ruffin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Arizona State University and a MBA (Management) from the University of Michigan. He also holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University. Mr. Ruffin is a graduate of the Executive Program in Technology from MIT and is a member of the Project Management Institute.
